The economy’s continuing struggles aren’t just confounding ordinary Americans. They’ve also stumped the head of the Federal Reserve—if you can believe that.
Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke told reporters Wednesday that the central bank had been caught off guard by recent signs of deterioration in the economy. And he said the troubles could continue into next year.
“We don’t have a precise read on why this slower pace of growth is persisting,” Bernanke said. He said the weak housing market and problems in the banking system might be “more persistent than we thought.”
The Fed cut its forecast for economic growth this year to a range of 2.7 percent to 2.9 percent which is less than the inflation rate of 3+% (which means negative growth—which is a recession.
Bernanke also said unemployment would stay higher than it had expected earlier.
Bernanke isn’t puzzled; he just does not want to be truthful on how to cure the U.S. economy. In hiding the facts, Bernanke has a lot of company including Obama and the media.
The true facts are hidden because Big Business and their lobbyists are hiding the truth. Big business does want to lose its source of cheap non-American labor, which includes illegal immigrants.
Here comes the truth.
The total U.S. labor force is 153 million. Of these, 13 million are unemployed.
According to the U.S. Census, there are 8 million illegal immigrants that are employed.
If the 8 million illegal immigrants were to lose their jobs and be replaced by Americans, there would be only 5 million unemployed Americans, and the unemployment rate would drop to 3.7%.
To keep the problem from being solved for the benefit of Big Business, and the U.S. is not enforcing its laws—and it would be so easy to do so.
U.S. law requires companies to employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States—either U.S. citizens, or foreign citizens who have the necessary authorization.
Contrary to what Americans have been led to believe, not all illegal aliens are “just fruit pickers.” Only 4% of illegals are employed in agriculture and 20% in construction. Surprise, surprise!
Illegal employees can be weeded out by a very simple U.S. government Internet system called eVerify, which is free and easy to use.
eVerify checks the employee against the Social Security database. If the employee does not pass the eVerify test, that employee is not qualified to work in America, and must be fired.
Firing illegal aliens puts no burden on the government—no one is being deported. Hopefully, however, without a job, the illegal alien will leave the U.S.
Of course, this is the last thing that Big Business, and their lackies, including Obama, Bernanke, the media, etc. want.
Americans should vote at the ballot box to rid the workforce of illegal aliens and bring the unemployment rate down to 3.7%
