Charles Waterhouse “Chip” Goodyear IV fired by Singapore

Charles Waterhouse "Chip" Goodyear IV - impostor?

Charles "Chip" Goodyear IV

Early this morning I received the following email from Singapore:

“It has just been announced that Goodyear 4 will not be proceeding with his appointment as CEO of Temasek citing ’strategic differences’. Looks like John’s expose may be the cause of this.”

As our readers know, in prior posts, we had raised serious questions regarding the identity of the curiously named Charles Waterhouse Goodyear IV.

Thousands of people read my post of February 8, 2009 on the possibility that Charles Waterhouse Goodyear IV, new head of Singapore’s investment company, Temasek Holdings, was an impostor. In this post, I wrote, “Are there two Charles “Chip”  Goodyears? One was born in 1958, and the other in 1933! They even have the same parents! Can this be true, or is one of them an impostor? A CIA plant? You tell us, we can’t figure this one out!”

In this post I produced an original family tree for a Charles Waterhouse Goodyear IV – not the Temasek Goodyear – but another one with the same improbable name.

On February 13, 2009, in a second post, we exposed Goodyear’s prior “corporate office” as being a tiny run-down house in a very inexpensive neighborhood, in an out-of-the-way New Orleans, Louisiana – an ideal spot for a CIA safe house.

Now, without further explanation, Temasek Holdings has fired the talented Mr. Charles Waterhouse “Chip” Goodyear IV. Here is Temasek’s tersely worded press release:

The Board of Directors of Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited (”Temasek”) today announced an agreement with Mr Charles (”Chip”) W. Goodyear not to proceed with his CEO appointment.
Mr Goodyear was appointed a Member of the Board on 1 February and CEO-Designate on 1 March. He was to succeed Ms Ho Ching as CEO on 1 October 2009.
Four months into the leadership transition, the Temasek Board and Mr Goodyear have concluded and accepted that there are differences regarding certain strategic issues that could not be resolved. In light of the differences, both parties decided that it is in their mutual interests to terminate the leadership transition process and hence the executive relationship with effect from 15 August 2009. Mr. Goodyear will also step down from the Temasek Board effective the same date.

Was talented Mr. Charles Waterhouse “Chip” Goodyear IV an impostor? We think so.

Was he a CIA agent?  Let’s just say he was working for the U.S. Government.

Happily, we nailed him.

I see it quite differently. LKY (who else is in complete control except him) is thorough enough to check out the background of Chip before hiring him.The whole espisode is staged to get Ho Ching “off the hook”. Now that the dust has settled (and there is no political openning for Ho Ching because Prata Man Nathan is still obedient), she needs to oversee LKY’s Temasek empire again. LKY only trusts people with blood tie.

I disagree with you. If I could find out what was wrong with Goodyear on the Internet, Singapore could have done the same. This shows that Singapore does not know what it is doing. Goodyear even had a terrible record in Australia. Anyone should know this.

i think you got the wrong information. according to your so-called Goodyear family tree, Charles Waterhouse Goodyear was born 1846 in Cortland , NY and his wife is Ellen Portia Conger.

Well, according to all the information i can find on Charles Goodyear, the actual Charles Goodyear is born 1800 in New Haven, Connecticut, and his wife is Omar Ghori.

plus he have a son, William Henry Goodyear (1846 – 1923), which was strangely absent from your Goodyear family tree.

Is it possible that you got the wrong information? if you’re wrong, please retract your claims.

But Charles Goodyear was the CEO of BHP and that is real.
Are you saying that he also fooled BHP?

Yes. He could have been “planted” a long time ago.

It’s correct the whole episode is staged to get the Jinx off the hook! The old fart
surely knew that Chip is a fake which will eventually create the perfect excuse
to get the Jinx back on track. It is widely publicised that Temasek lost the billions. They have the connections to know well ahead of time that the financial
giants: Citicorp, Merrill Lynch, Bank of Amercia etc are on the verge of collapse. So why did Temasek invested in them? Questions to ask should be how the money was lost: to whom? when? paid to whom? Surely if Chip were
genuine, he would have digged into all these mess.

Maybe the assumption that Chip Goodyear is a CIA implant is gaining some credibility. Just the other day China arrested a couple of BHP guys for “stealing” state secrets from China. Coincidence?

  • Low

    Addendum:

The employees who were arrested by the Chinese authorities were from Rio Tinto group (subject of a merger with BHP recently) and not from BHP (my apologies). But the association is uncannily coincidental. Maybe the Chinese are only playing balls because they want their Chinalco’s bid over Rio Tinto to be successful, or maybe there is some element of truth in their allegations. Anybody can shed some light on this?

“Goodyear even had a terrible record in Australia.”

You referring to his record at BHP?
If so, the shareholders didn’t agree with you!

BHP under Goodyear was accused of an illegal deal with Iraq trading wheat for oul. Goodyear finally squirmed out of the accusation, as his buddies in the USA and UN said it the deal had involved only a “soft bribe.”
There is more to BHP than profits – what about trading with the enemy – Iraq.
Ever read the New York Times?

Yes, we are aware of these facts, and appreciate the additional information you have contributed.

We were planning a post on Goodyear and the Iraq deal, but our post got pushed back do to the health care protest in the US. Thanks for giving us the nudge – now that the cat is out of the bag – let’s roll

    Shukran, Much appreciated, John Harding
