Obama Wows ’em at the G20

Like a high school reunion!

Like a high school reunion!

At center, President Barack Obama, Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, and Russa’s President Dmitry Medvedev, mug for the camera during a group photo to mark the G-20 summit in London on Thursday, April 2. Others are, front row, from left, Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Saud Al-Faisal; China’s President Hu Jintao and Britain’s Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Top left are Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan an Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva. Top right is South Africa’s President, Kgalema Motlanthe and far right, Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Meles Zenawi

And a good time was had by all!

All in all, a very successful performance for President Obama on the international economic stage. He achieved most of what he wanted while allowing others to claim victory and allowing the United States to shed its Bush-era reputation for inflexibility and heavy-handedness. And by the standards of past summits, this one was full of accomplishment.

By the way, in case you’re wondering — yes, they will be meeting again in September, this time in New York for the next high school reunion of Obama and the gang.
